A special set of instructions for children with learning disabilities is designed to help them attain self-sufficiency and self-confidence and become capable of functioning within the society they live in. It became universal by the late 20th century. Education is not only meant to help in getting a successful job or start a business, education is also necessary for moving within society and develop an understanding of the various aspects of life. The general education imparted in schools for children is not inclusive of instructions that can help children with special needs to progress. Children with special needs require these distinctively designed sets of instructions to achieve accomplishment in daily life. It is not as we commonly believe one size fits all, this is always custom designed and individualized to meet the needs of each child.

It’s a child’s natural right to receive an education. It’s designed specifically for the inclusion of children who are born with disabilities that pose some sort of challenge for them to learn or receive an education. These children differ from others physically, mentally, and socially.

Special education is also commonly known as Aided Education, Special Needs education, Individualized, Education Program, etc. Ideally, this type of education requires planned and systematically monitored teaching sessions.

Special needs education is not usually given in usual classrooms. Commonly this includes distinctive schools, classrooms with the facility of other equipment that may be necessary to assist a child in learning.

Teachers Special Education

The teachers receive professional training in this subject. Usual professional teachers are not qualified for teaching students with learning disabilities. Teachers with professional degrees in special education help kids with special needs to achieve their highest potential and progress beyond their abilities.

The chief job of teachers is to teach the students with severe disabilities, life skills and impart basic literacy knowledge to them. However, kids with moderate disabilities and learning challenges are taught a general curriculum with modifications to meet individual needs. 

Why We Need Educated?

Children born with the following distinctive needs identified usually qualify for special learning:

  • Learning Disabilities such as dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia,
  • Communications disability
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Cognitive disability
  • Emotional Disorders
  • Orthopedic impairment
  • Visual impairment

  • Traumatic Brain Injury

Identification and diagnosis of disorders, especially learning disabilities at the right age is very crucial for the personal development of the child. Physical impairments are usually visible however recognizing cognitive disabilities often takes time to be realized.

Learning Disabilities

Other than physical impairment, learning disabilities often result due to neurobiological or genetic factors. These factors affect the cognitive abilities of an individual. It’s immensely important for parents and families to realize any shortcomings of such sort of their children and get them assistance in learning as early in life as possible. Learning disabilities can be identified if a child has trouble in understanding mathematics, has problem organizing patterns, trouble in writing or reading. However, learning disabilities must not be confused. Different kids have different learning graphs, and therefore it’s important to be vigilant in this regard.
